Deerberg, the Company of Firsts

First Deerberg Invoice from 1756

Report after 25 years
serving the Cruise Industry

In 1979 Jochen Deerberg was given a consulting mandate by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Brankamp, the then Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Deutsche Gerätebau. At that time the Deutsche Gerätebau was owned by Prof. Joachim Zahn, the President of Mercedes, and Konsul Pavel, the proprietor of the Rheinnadel Group. The mandate read: "Analyse of each of the 5 divisions as well as of Central Purchasing". This was Jochen Deerberg's start in the world of maritime waste management

First Exhibition Stand on SMM

Deerberg-Systems was founded in 1982 and started operating in January 1983. The objective was to sell waste management products for the shipbuilding industry in general. The initial Deerberg-Systems sales programme was presented to the industry 1984 at the SMM in Hamburg
Fire Print and Rosy Garnishing Set

The years 1982 – 1992 were extraordinarily hard and difficult, because the idea to offer waste management systems on a larger scale –albeit correct– was 10 years ahead of its time. Deerberg-Systems’ capital resources were quickly consumed and basically exhausted by the end of 1983. As I didn’t want to use my family’s capital, I was forced to help myself. This was made possible by two remarkable products (Fireprint and Rosy Garnishing Set). Basically, the contribution margin from these two products – app. 500,000 Euro – represented the second start-up capital for Deerberg-Systems

Deerberg Blacksmith

Since 1756, quality, service and strong innovation have been, and still are, the basis for all Deerberg activities. These values have been sustained for almost 250 years and are still as important for the entire business conduct in Oldenburg today. The skilled trade background and the energy of the past nine generations being a constant incentive for further and still better achievments
